Team Foundation Server 2019 Office Integration requires Office 2016, Office 2013, or Office 2010.

Use a trusted antivirus product. Keep your antivirus product updated to the latest version. Stay updated with the latest antivirus definition/signature file (This defines the known current vulnerabilities and exemptions). To ensure optimum performance, it is not recommended to install antivirus software on the SOLIDWORKS PDM vault server. Consider creating exemptions for SOLIDWORKS file types and folder locations to improve SOLIDWORKS file based runtime performance such as File Open/Save/Save As and PDM Vault Checkin/Checkout. If you encounter install or runtime errors or warnings from your antivirus product, first check the SOLIDWORKS Knowledge Base for known issues or contact your SOLIDWORKS reseller.

End Of Support (EOS) corresponds to the last SOLIDWORKS release where a Microsoft product is supported (This is synchronized with the Microsoft Mainstream Support End Date). SOLIDWORKS releases after the EOS are not supported for the said Microsoft product and SOLIDWORKS installation is blocked in the case of an operating system.

It is not recommended to install any instances of other applications on the SOLIDWORKS PDM Archive or Database Server. For PDM Professional, it is recommended the Archive and Database servers are two separate, dedicated machines.

Office 2019 is now available on a preview for commercial customers for both Windows and Mac. We do not have a lot of information available on the release dates yet since we are still away from the final release of the product. We expect the version to debut sometime in the latter half of 2018, subject to change. So, how does it differ from a traditional O365 subscription? Well, if you are an existing Office 365 ProPlus customer, you should already be on the latest version of the Office build. Office 2019, on the other hand, is a one-time purchase which gives you access to the 32-bit & 64-bit Windows desktop applications. So, in essence, Office 2019 is a perpetual upgrade to Office 2016.

This release of Office 2019 is ideal for disconnected PCs and Laptops which are not connected to the internet or are installed in a corporate environment.

At the time of writing this post, we do not have much information on specific details. So, we will keep this post as a placeholder, before we get concrete official information on the Microsoft Website.

What we heard is that neither Windows 7 or 8.1 are supported. The rumor is that Office 2019 will only be expected to run on Windows 10. The following Windows 10 editions are expected to run Office 2019.
